Hi there, duncan-quintadel.

The Cash Flow Planners and its related function is available as long as you're logged in to the account with the Master Admin privilege. However, this feature isn't available for accounts with multicurrency businesses since this is designed to work well with one account and one currency only.

You can then use the forecast as a planning tool to look at different scenarios by running reports. One of them is the Statement of Cash Flows. It lets you know how your business is doing by showing you the amount of cash that flows into your business, and the amount that flows out within a specific period.

Here's how to run a Statement of Cash Flows (This report is only ran in accrual basis).

  1. Go to Business overview and select Reports.
  2. From the Search field, enter Statement of Cash Flows.
  3. Select the Statement of Cash Flows item to open the report.
  4. (Optional) Click Customise to change any of the settings for the report, if necessary. For example, you can change the Report period to show a wider or narrower date range.
  5. Click Run report.

There are other reports you can run to focus on finding the best ways to manage cash flow. Please browse this article as your guide: Track your cash flow in QuickBooks Online

Thanks for your reply.

I am logged in as admin and multi-currency is switched off.  However, Cash Flow Planner does not display under the Cash Flow bookmark or in Quickbooks Labs.  I have attached a few screenshots. I have only started trialling the system today and not yet entered any financial data - might this be the problem?  Regards, Duncan

I'll share some information about the Cash Flow Planner's availability, duncan-quintadel.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) uses different reports and projections to get a clear look at your current and future business finances. Also, since this deals mainly forecasting with your money in and money out of your business, you'll want to consider entering your data first so it would show on your end.

To make sure that you know where you stand financially in terms of your business, your books must be accurate. Check out this article for more details: Track Your Cash Flow In QuickBooks Online.

However, if you've already entered your financial data, but still the Cash Flow Planner isn't showing, use a private or incognito window so we can isolate the issue. I've provided the keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

Once done, If the option is already showing you can  clear your regular browser's cache and let your browsing experience start from scratch. But if you're still getting the same results, use a different browser instead.

Furthermore, QuickBooks offers wide range variety of reports that will show you different aspects of your business. Learn how to customise them so you'll get the data you need most: Customise Reports In QuickBooks Online.
