How can I see account ledger for certain account

Hi there, raheelsaya-hotma.

To see an acount ledger in QuickBooks Online, I suggest running the General Ledger report. Then, customise this to show a certain account.

Hre's how:

  1. Click the Reports menu at the left panel.
  2. Type General Ledger in the search box.
  3. Click the Customise button. Then. go to the Filter drop-down arrow.
  4. Checkmark the Account box and choose the specific account from the drop-down list.
  5. You can filter the other options.
  6. Hit the Run report button.

How can I see account ledger for certain account

Hi,

General Ledgers should contain columns of Debit, Credit and running balance. On Dashboard, there should be a separate Menu with name Accounting Entries to post all types of entries (e.g. Journal entry, receipt entry, payment entry, contra entry, debit note entry, credit note entry etc.). In the same manner, there should be separate menu for General Ledgers, Cash book, Day book etc. In present quickbooks, I am unable to view the ledger in Debit and Credit mode.

Thanks

Hello there, @9130 3507 5972 7616.

When running the General Ledger report, you can easily add your desired columns by clicking the small gear icon. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. From the search field, type General Ledger.
  3. Click the report to open.
  4. Then, to add the Debit Credit, and Balance column, click the Gear icon.
  5. Select Show more.
  6. Check the box for the Credit and Debit.
  7. Tick also the box for Balance and Open Balance
  8. Then, Run report.

To further help you customize your report, check out this article: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.

If the above process does not work for you, I suggest running your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private mode. Encountering issues when accessing websites are sometimes cause by a piled-up cache and cookies store on your browser. To get started, here are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once signed in, perform the above steps again. If this works, you have to clear your browser's cache to have a clean slate. If not, I suggest running your QBO account using another supported browser.

Also, for additional reference about how Dashboard works in QBO, see this link: Get to know your Home Dashboard.

If you're looking for resources or articles you can bookmark or save for future use, you can always visit our QuickBooks Help articles page. You can manually search via entering a keyword on the search field or open any of the categories displayed to start browsing.

Please know that I'm always here if you have further concerns about accessing your QBO account. I'd be happy to lend you a hand. More power to your business.
