Hello saburiiloriaudit!
Yes, you can create a Profit and Loss summary report in QuickBooks Online. I'll guide you through it.
To do this, simply click the Collapse option on the report page to lessen the list of income and expenses. If you want a more summarized P&L, you can click the inverted triangles beside the account names.
I suggest saving a copy of this report by clicking on Save customization. That way, you can just pull it up from your list of Custom reports in the future.
You can play around with the reports to get the data that you only need. See more information about customising them. If you need more help, please don't hesitate to go back to this thread.
Jess
It worked satisfactorily
Great thanks
Hi There
This works fine until you include the report in a Management Report then for some reason it expands all the sections again. Is there a way to get the management report to pick up the report exactly as you laid it out?
I would have assumed in the background it just runs these reports as PDF and adds them but apparently not.
Thanks
Hi, walkerdigitalac
All the accounts affecting the Profit and Loss will show on the report and changing it isn't currently an option in QuickBooks.
For now, you can download the report as a PDF to save its customization settings.

Hi There
Thanks for the reply, I have done that as you say and it works fine when running the report on it's own, however I have added that customised report to a "Management Report" and when I run this it reverts back to the original format and ignores my changes.
Thanks
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Any report you add in a management report will show all sub-accounts under a parent account. Regardless if you hide it and save the customization, it will still show once you add the custom report to a management report.
I suggest you keep your custom report as is, so the view of your Profit and Loss Summary report stays the same.
