expenses detail on product/sevices summary on each project

hello I am new to the quickbook, my field is construction, can anyone tell me how to view detailed item quantity reports from purchasing orders issued on each project, this feature is very important in knowing what item quantities are spent on each project .

I'm able to see on Report menu at Puchases by product/services detail the item quantity that have purchased, but not divided into each project.

Thanks guys ...

Hi there, @adickys2017.

Currently, we're unable to pull up a detailed item quantity report to show purchase orders issued for each project instantly.

Someplace, I can help you pull up the Open Purchase Orders Detail report to view the purchases issued for each project by clicking the transaction from the statement.

Let me show you how:

  1. Click the Search icon
    :mag_right:on the top right.
  2. Type open purchase and then select Open Purchase Order Detail.
  3. Select the purchase order to view the project associated with it.

From there, you can see the item quantity from the PO issued to a project.

I am also looking for a Purchasing report that includes item detail.  I've only been able to get the item detail from the item receipts but would like to be able to pull the information off of the purchase orders themselves.

I know a way on how you can pull up the item details when running a purchasing report in QuickBooks Online, bbradley.

You can group the Open Purchase Orders Detail report by Vendor to pull up each item detail from the purchase orders.

Will this report only show Open PO's or all PO's for a specified period?

Thanks for getting back to us here, @bbradley.

The report mentioned by my colleague @RoseMarjorieA will show the open PO's only. If you want the details of all your purchase orders, you can pull the Purchases by Product/Service Detail report. Let me walk you through how.

  1. Go to Reports. Then, enter Purchases by Product/Service Detail in the search field.
  2. Hit the Customize button at the top. Change the Report period to your specified date.
  3. Hover towards the Filter drop-down. Then, mark the box next to Transaction Type.
  4. Select Non-Posting. See the attached image below.
  5. Click Run report.

The above steps will post all your PO transactions in detail. From there, you can either print or export the report to Excel. To print, just click the Printer icon in the report.
