Hello, I am CA Dipak Unadkat. I have started to use QB from 2020-21. I want help for how to record GST liability and payment .

Welcome to the Community, @drunadkat.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can file your tax return or GST liability and record the payment in one place. Before doing so, I suggest reviewing what you owe first to ensure everything is accurate before you file.

Here's how to do it:

  1. In QBO, go to the Taxes menu at the left pane.
  2. In the Returns tab, check which return is due this month, then select Tax Adjustment.
  3. Select the Journal date.
  4. Review your tax. Make sure everything is correct.
  5. Take note of your gross sales, taxable sales, tax due, and adjustment amount (if you added one). You’ll need these numbers later when you fill out your tax return form.
  6. Hit Save and close.

You can also run your tax liability report for the same tax period if you want a detailed look at what you owe.

After that, you may now proceed with filing your return to the right agent and recording the tax payment. Consider checking out this article for further guidance with the process: File your tax return and record tax payment in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that I'm only a few clicks away if you have any additional concerns or questions. I'll be happy to answer them. Have a wonderful day!
