Is that neccesary to mentioned hsn code for services

Hi there, globalinquiry1.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. The Government of New Delhi has made it mandatory to mention 8-digit HSN or tariff code while issuing Goods and Services Tax (GST) invoice.

You may want to check this link to learn more about the HSN and SAC Codes in GST.

Additionally, to add HSN and SAC codes to your products and services, you can refer to this article: How to add HSN and SAC codes to your products and services

I tried entering our HSN No. 4090000, Quickbooks is not accepting.  I want someone who knows the answer from Quickbooks team to call me back immediately.

This is not the impression we want you to experience when entering your HSN code, 8 digit HSN Number.

We can add 6 and 8 digits HSN codes into your products and services. Since QuickBooks is not accepting it, it's possible the browser's cache data is full of frequent access to web pages or damaged. This causes the odd behavior when adding HSN code in QuickBooks Online (QBO). To better isolate this issue, let's try signing in to your account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

Nonetheless, if you want to reach out to our Customer Support Team, you may send a message via chat. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and assist you with your concern. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern.
  4. Click Let’s talk.
  5. Choose Start a chat. and type in your contact info.

I tried opening browser through New Incognito Window, it is not possible to update 7 or 8 digit HSN code which is required as per new Indian GST guidelines from 1st April '21.

Quickbooks Technical team has to update 8 digit HSN code so that we are allowed to update new Codes.

Currently, Quickbooks HSN Code feature updates with old codes as per attached path: https://www.cbic.gov.in/resources//htdocs-cbec/gst/goods-rates-booklet-03July2017.pdf
