From 3 April 2023, all KeyPay brand across QuickBooks Payroll will be updated to reflect new Employment Hero branding. This includes our platform, website, brochureware, sales materials and emails among other real estate.

While QuickBooks Payroll customers will soon start to see the refreshed branding across the platform, there will be no other changes to the functionality or product. Everything our customers know and love about QB Payroll will remain the same.

We will begin to communicate this to our Advisors on 20 February so they are prepared to manage any queries from their clients.
The official rebrand will take place on 1 April. We appreciate your help in keeping these changes under wraps until then.

It is in our DNA to fall in love with our customer problems and we will continue to use this mindset when working with Empoloyment Hero on how their technology can solve the most important problems facing our QuickBook Payroll customers.

The software that has powered our QuickBooks Payroll product, KeyPay, was acquired by Employment Hero back in 2021. Following a thorough evaluation, the decision was made to combine resources under one brand across their entire product suite.

This means that KeyPay will now be known as Employment Hero within the QuickBooks Payroll product.

Founded in 2014, Employment Hero is an Australian owned and based cloud technology company offering HR and Payroll software. Its award-winning core platform provides an end-to-end people management solution including recruitment, onboarding and performance management among other features. 

Employment Hero powers over 90,000 businesses, collectively managing over 850,000 employees.

From 3 April 2023, the KeyPay brand across QuickBooks Payroll will be updated to reflect new Employment Hero branding.

While you will soon start to see the refreshed branding across the platform, there will be no other changes to the functionality or product. Everything you know and love about QuickBooks Payroll will remain the same!

Our advisors are at the forefront of industry changes and we want to ensure you are feeling prepared to communicate this with your clients as relevant when the official rebrand takes place on 3 April 2023.

You don’t need to lift a finger. The platform, web-pages and other references to KeyPay will be replaced automatically with Employment Hero from 3 April 2023. We have also prepared some updated QuickBooks Payroll brochureware for you to use with your clients as needed. 

Despite recent communications sent to Employment Hero customers regarding new app changes to Swag, there is currently no impact to Payroll QuickBooks customers and the current QB Swag app experience. 

No. If you already have STP 2 enabled with QuickBooks Payroll there is nothing you need to do. The name of the Software provider registered with the ATO will be updated automatically from “KeyPay” to “Employment Hero Payroll” by Monday 6 March 2023. Despite the name change, the software ID will remain the same - maintaining your STP connection.

We work closely with Employment Hero on evolving the Payroll product to solve the most important problems facing our customers. We don’t comment on the strategy of Employment Hero.
