Good day, @info569.

QuickBooks won’t automatically update the information added in the Service Date column. You may need to manually modify it yourself before the next scheduled date.

For more information about this type of transaction, check out this article: How to create a recurring invoice and manage recurring transactions.

Leave a comment if you have any other concerns. I'm more than happy to help. Have a fantastic day!

What point if we have to manually go and edit recurring invoices, we might as well create those manually.

If its. recurring there should be an option to automatically take the invoice date as service date

I appreciate you for joining us here in the Community for your service date concern, @awrange.

Allow me to provide some clarifications regarding this matter. As mentioned by my peer KhimG above, recurring transaction templates don't automatically populate the service date field on transactions.

You'll need to find each transaction and manually enter the correct service date. It is because the system isn't able to recognize as to when does the service or purchase happened.

To give you more details on how to modify a recurring template in QuickBooks Online, please see this link: Learn how to change a recurring transaction template.

Please know that our developers are always considering new features to be added to the system and cope with your business needs. That said, I encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Online Blog site regularly to stay updated with our latest news and product road-maps.

You can always get back to me here if you have any other questions. I'll make sure you're taken care of. Keep safe!

@awrange

You may need a 3rd party billing app to put a dynamic periodic automatically in the invoice

What 3rd Party tools can I use to dynamically increment service date on my recurring invoices in QBO. What QBO is offering as answer just does not work. What's the point of recurring invoices if I have to manually edit every one of them for Service Date.
