If so, I was able to have the Ø in print preview but not ² in my test file.
I have already raised this to our relevant to find out if this is a product limit or bug and I will get back to you on this.
In the meantime, please consider using alternate ways like "x amount by x amount" to express meter squared.

Following up on this. We are able to replicate the same issue on our end. The known workaround is to create an imported template so the symbol will display in Print Preview. Here is an article on how you can create and imported style for your invoices.

It amazes me QUICK BOOKS ignores tens of thousands of customers.
Their response is no one else has mentioned it
Truth is they all leave QB and use the opposition
