Hi QBO Community.
I have recently uploaded a couple of invoice templates from MS Word, and got them all linked up to the required fields - all happy and able to generate my custom invoices from within QBO. I noticed a mistake in the footer of one of the template documents and now want to upload a revised version of that document. This is a minor revision with cosmetic changes only, no linked field are changing
The only way I can see to do this is to upload the revision as a new template, re-link every field, and then re-associate the new template with all of my invoices. This seems like a crazy amount of work to fix a typo in the documents footer. This approach also leaves the old incorrect template available to be used in QBO - which I don't want - so once I upload the new correct template, I need to delete the old one, and I am not sure what this will do to the invoices I have already created using this template.
The original word document that I uploaded as a template is obviously stored within QBO somewhere. Is there a way I can simply update the erroneous template document rather than re-linking everything?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Scott.
Hi there, scotcarl,
I appreciate you reaching out to the Intuit Community and providing detailed information.
In QuickBooks Online, you can change the template of your created invoices.
Once you've imported the revised version of your invoice template, you're now ready to re-link it your invoices. Here's what you'll need to do:
To verify if it was successfully re-link to the new template, you can click Print or Preview button at the bottom in your invoice page.
That's it! If you have further questions in managing your transactions, please let me know. I'd be happy to help.
