Hi there, bjcmechanical. I've got here a set of steps to help you get rid of the error and connect your account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To resolve the error, we can start by logging in to your QBO account via incognito mode to determine if this is a browser-related issue. This does not store cache and history files that might get corrupted which causes odd behavior when running web-based programs. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:
Once signed in, try to update the bank account information again. If this work, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to eliminate piled-up data that might cause the issue. If you still get the same error, I recommend using another browser or device.
However, if you still received the same error, I suggest getting in touch with your financial institution to further help you in the connection process since there are changes on their end. They can provide additional set of steps that you can perform to get rid of the error.
On the other hand, you can also manually upload your bank transactions to QBO via CSV files. For detailed steps, refer to this article: Manually upload your transactions, receipts, and bills into QuickBooks Online.
It's also recommended to regularly perform the reconciliation process to ensure the accounts in your QBO matches the balance of your real-life bank statement.
I'm always here ready to lend a hand if you have other concerns managing your bank accounts in QuickBooks. Feel free to leave a reply below. Have a great day ahead, and stay safe.
Thank you.
I have tried this on both Chrome and MS Edge, and still get the same error. (176)
I have also tried to update the banking info on the Quickbooks Android app. Same error.
This issue started after the E-banking security upgrade from Bendigo Bank. They are no longer using the security token.
I now receive a notification on my phone to accept the QBO connection, but by the time i receive and allow the connection the error has popped up on QBO.

I will manually enter the transction in the meantime.
Thank you.
Hi bjcmechanical,
Yes, it's a good idea to enter your transactions manually while we resolve the error you received.
Since your bank has changed its security protocol, you might as well want to check your bank account to see if there's an option that you need to adjust. If there's none, you can disconnect and reconnect your bank connection in QuickBooks to start fresh. Please note that you may not be able to reconnect if Error 176 continues. If that happens, you can contact our QBO Customer Support, so they can use more tools to gather more data a nd investigate this behavior. Ony od this after managing your transactions in the For review section.

Let me know if you have any other questions about your bank connection concern. I'll be right here to help you out.
I have been having the same issue with Bendgo Bank ,they are blaming Quickbooks ,they is blaming the Bank. No one wants to admit fault and fix the problems. Easy fix is to change Banks and use another Bookkeeping program if they can't resolve their issues.
Thanks for joining the thread, travtechcomputer.

Connect using the direct feed options for Bendigo as this has no issues with changes to security, passwords etc and it’s an approved method for collecting data. Handing over your user name & password even to QBO is not recommended.
The problem is you have to hand over your login and password to get the link in order to apply for the improved feed
Hi danvers,
Yes, you may consider upgrading your bank feed connection to direct feed. Please note that for Bendigo bank accounts the supported account types are Personal and Business banking accounts, credit card and loan accounts (excluding foreign currency accounts). Here's how to connect a bank via direct feed:
OR
Note: Copies aren't accepted by the banks, so don't deliver the form into your local branch. The entire process will take up to 10 business days from the time your form is received by SISS.
