Does a quote have the option of "click to accept"? My clients dont want to, or cant, print, sign, scan and return.

Hi user12557,

Currently there is no feature for your customers to 'click and accept' or similar when receiving quotes, although I can see how this would be a useful tool and would be happy to pass this suggestion along for consideration in a future product enhancement. As a workaround, your clients could reply to the email to advise they accept the quote and this will go to the email you have set up to be customer-facing in your settings. You could then attach the email to the invoice when converted to a quote, or so on. To confirm which email address this will be received to:

  1. Go to the Settings icon (top right), and select Account and Settings.
  2. Select the Company menu on the left, and click into the Contact info section
  3. Review and edit the Customer-facing email as required.

@user12557

Consider having this app to integrate with your QBO

Good day, @Lucagu

Having the 'click and accept' option for customers would be useful for business owners. It would be easier to track the status of your quotes. For now, we haven't received any updates yet from our developers as to when this will be implemented. Rest assured that our product developers review all customer's feedback for consideration in any future updates.

I'll also relay this message to them on my end and add your vote for this one. You can also share your thoughts and ideas through your account.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
    Capture.JPG
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
  3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send message.
  4. From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send message.

For your reference, check out this link: How to Submit Feedback

In the meantime, I suggest visiting our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features.

If you need further assistance with managing quotes, the Community is the place to go. Have a great day.

@Lucagu

Consider using the app as I mentioned earlier.

Another option, you can utilize a 3rd party app to create estimates/invoices for free up to 1000 invoices. When your customer accepts an estimate, the app automatically convert it to an invoice and send it out for payment. You will need a paid connector to duplicate the transaction automatically to your QBO account, a payment processor (e.g PayPal, Stripe), and another app to reconcile PayPal/Stripe transactions into QBO.

This is something we need. I have come from a company that uses quickfile to a company that uses quickbooks and I am surprised by the lack of features and the cost of quickbooks in relation to quickfile.

A customer portal would also be a useful tool. This is another feature of quickfile. Is this going to be an option for quickbooks in the very near future????

Hello, Simon.

Thanks for the ideas, and I do like the idea of having a customer portal. Plus, letting your customers manage their quotes would be a time-saving feature.

Having the option to let your customer set the quote status would be a good addition for QuickBooks Online. A customer portal tool would also be a nice feature in managing your client-related transactions.

Our developers might work on these two ideas in the future, so stay tuned for email updates and in-product popups.

As what my colleagues mentioned, I would recommend sending feedback to our developers. Click the Gear icon, then select Feedback (or you can follow the steps provided by LieraMarie_A).

For now, you'll want to manually set your quote status in QuickBooks. Simply open the quote, click the status menu (below the Customer drop-down menu), then set a status.

Do you do progress invoicing for your customers? If you need help setting it up, I would recommend reading this article: Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online.

If you have more questions about handling your quotes or about other features in QuickBooks, please let me know the details below. I'll ensure you'll be able to complete your tasks and focus on your business.

@SimonJS

Consider using a separate invoicing app for free and utilize a connector to duplicate data into your QBO account. It also offers a customer/client portal feature.

I just recently changed over to Quickbooks as my new accountant insisted. I am surprised about the lack of features like a simply button to accept quotes. Quote and invoice templates for different kind of jobs, Editing features in invoices and quotes like Fat and Italic. Or even a space to give the quote a title for the project. Every time there is a lack of feature, the suggestion is to use yet another app or work around. This is not a free software and after the amount of years that you guys have been  going, I am stunned about the min features and the way it is designed. Maybe nice for the accountants to run reports, dreadful for the end customer to use. I have sent a few feedbacks, never heard anything or seen anything implemented. Now the bank feed has not been working for the past two months. I seriously consider to move to another platform at the end of the tax year.

Hi Blumengeier,

Thanks for joining the thread. Appreciate you sharing your sentiment and feedback about the current features offered in QuickBooks Online. I can see that this can really bring convenience in how you manage your business. There's no specific turnaround time as to when we can have the feature added in QuickBooks Online. Rest assured all customer feedback is reviewed thoroughly by the team.

Furthermore, if you need more help with customising your sales forms. You can do this by going to your Custom form styles settings. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and then select Custom form styles.
  2. Select New style.
  3. Select the type of sales form you want to create a template for.

Also, you can check this link for a more comprehensive steps about how to Create and send quotes in QuickBooks Online and Customise invoices, quotes, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Post again in the Community if you have more questions. I'll be around to help you!

Hi

I too would really like to see this addition to QB.

Why can customers manage their invoices online but not accept estimates/ quotes? It seems out of sync, requesting emails as a workaround seems out of date/ behind the curve for such an accounting system.

Please can you encourage the QB development to action this and let me know how you get on?

thanks

Thanks for joining us here, zlc1.

For now, the option to let clients accept estimates is still not available. You'll want to manually change the status of the quote in QBO as previously suggested.

I would also recommend adding feedback about this. The more requests we receive about a particular feature, the more likely it will be part of the new update. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feedback and suggestions about giving the customers button to accept estimates.
  3. Click Next to submit them.

In addition, there are also third-party apps that offer additional features when it comes to managing estimates. They can be synced with QBO so it would be easier to send data back and forth. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Apps menu and proceed to the Find Apps tab.
  2. Type in "quotes" in the Search bar.
  3. You can also click the drop-down list for Browse categories and select Manage sales.
  4. Select a sub-category.
  5. Browse each app to get more details about the features that they're selling.

It's Almost 3 Years and they can't Implement a Single Feature!

I recently switched to QuickBooks Online and was stunned by the lack of  features. Every other thing just makes me go back to my previous software. This is really disappointing when you are charging monthly fees and still can't Implement a useful feature after 3 Years.

I will probably be leaving QuickBooks next month.
