I appreciate you getting back in the thread, @davids2.
Let me help figure out why your report contains no data.
One possible scenario depends on how you record the client's fees. Did you use a service item when recording the fee? If so, you should be able to exclude the fees when generating a report for the income transactions of the product items.
Or, it could be that the date range you selected have no transactions for the product items.
Once you identify the reason, you can customise the Sales by Product/Service Detail report again and exclude the fees.
Should you need to customise your other financial reports, you may check on this helpful article: Customise your financial reports.
Let me know how it goes. I want to help ensure you can run a report without showing your client's fees.
The date range is okay.
What is a "service item"?
In any event I don't want to see teh client fees, I want to see all other income only.
Hi Davids2,
Let me continue to help you about your report. I just have a few questions though.
What report are you running, and how are these clients' fees recorded? By knowing the report and the way the fees were recorded, I would be able to replicate the scenario using my test account.
Thanks in advance.
Client fees are income. Easiest thing is to create a service type item in the products & services list called client fees and link it to a client fee income account you create. Then use that item on the client invoice. Items determine what account is posted to.
Then you can run a P&L and in customize select what income and expense account to report on
