Hi there, malandscapeandfencing.
I'm here to help share information about the Mileage tracking feature.
Currently, the mileage tracking feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn't have the option to import mileage data. For now, what you can do is to automatically track mileage and manually add trip.
To add trips manually directly in QBO instead of the app, here's what you'll need to do:
To know more on how mileage tracking feature works in QBO, you can read below articles:
I'm just a one post away if you have any other concerns. I'd be more than happy to answer it for you.
We didn't find any 3rd party tool to migrate the mileage data directly into QBO yet. But, we have a few clients doing a workaround steps as follows:
1. Prepare your CSV file
2. Install the trial license of QuickBooks Desktop
3. Utilize the trial period of Saasant to import the mileage data into QuickBooks Desktop

4. Migrate the file of QuickBooks Desktop into a trial account of QuickBooks Online
5. If you already have a QBO account, utilize the Copy feature in ChronoBooks to migrate the data between QBO accounts.

We didn't test yet this workaround for ourselves. Hopefully you can share anything later. Hope it helps.
How ridicules is this?? You pay $800 a year for online cloud base service that is supposed to be better than the desktop version and they can't even make software that you can import ALL OF YOUR DATA so your company info and financials are all up to date. Really??
Hello, @matthahm.
I understand the importance of this feature for you and your business. I'll pass along this to our engineers so they'll get more ideas on how to improve QiuckBooks and ensure to give our customers the best experience.
As of now, I encourage following the steps provided above to add the trips to QuickBooks.

I'm very disappointed that a simple CSV import for mileage isn't available. If this is a planned feature, any idea when it might be available? I'd be livid if the feature became available after spending hours on a work around or even longer on manual entry from QBSE.
Hi MartinV,
Thanks for your feedback - we don't have plans to implement mileage import from QBSE to QBO, however I will ensure this is passed on to the Product Team to consider implementing this in future updates.
Bonny
Agreed. Ridiculous that this has been overlooked at the prices they charge.
Hi.
I didn't auto-track my driving in 2019 but I have a mileage log. I AM NOT going to input a years worth of trips one at a time. How can I manually input my total business miles into QBSE?
Hi poetjenharris,
If you have not been using the tracking feature in QBSE you will need to enter the trips manually. You can do so by following the steps here depending on your type of phone. While we don't yet have a feature to import trips as eg a CSV file, I could recommend reaching out to the QBSE Support Team directly in case they have any workarounds they may be able to provide.
