Hi klow,
We are experiencing some issues with the Reports tab at the moment.
Our engineer team is aware of this and are currently working on a fix.
In the mean time, as a work-around you can try going into the search bar at the top right corner of Quickbooks and search for the type of report you're looking for.
For example, if you wanted a Profit and Loss report, click into the search bar and type in Profit and Loss, select the correct report and it should come up for you without any issues.
Kristian.
Hi Kristian,
Typing "Profit and Loss" in the Search function does not work as per screenshot below.
Hi klow,
Try typing in just the word Profit so that the suggestion for Profit and Loss Report comes up then try selecting it from there.
It is a little temperamental at the moment so you might have to try more than once to get it up.
Let me know if you're still having troubles.
Kristian.
Do I understand correctly that this is still ongoing, nearly 6 months later? We have just set up automated reports and it sends a spreadsheet populated with zeros. Are these 2 issues connected?
It has actually been ongoing since https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/other-questions/why-are-the-reports-not-working-th... ?! it is cleasrly not a browser issue if the automated reports are failing. Why is QB repeatedly unable to resolve these issues for months and even years, or even track them properly (see the faisaco of the Barclays connections https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/forums/replypage/board-id/banking-uk/message-id/7599? What is the INV number (or multiple numbers) for this one?
I hope you're doing fine, RD11.
It seems like you've posted twice in this forum. My colleague already shared some information about your concern. Please check out this link to view the details: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-uk/banking/barclays-bank-will-not-recconect-to-quickb....

Today is the first time I've experienced any issues using the report option, so I was glad to find QuickBooks was aware of a problem, addressing it, and offering a workaround. However; I was disappointed that "the search option" workaround, QuickBooks directed users to use, gave me the same blank white screen as when selecting any of the individual reports as before.
I wonder if the problem I'm experiencing is the same as everyone else or if mine is something new?
Hi Kimberlie1,
Thanks for joining this conversation. A browser-related issue is a possible reason I'm seeing as to why you're getting a blank white screen on your end.
Let's use an incognito or a private browser to confirm the issue. Open any browser, then follow these shortcut keys to use an incognito window:
Check to see if you can select any of the individual reports without getting the white blank screen. Then, follow the steps to clear your browsing data to remove unwanted files that are causing the error.
Otherwise, try using another supported, up-to-date browser.
For future reference, read through this article and learn about customizing your report to view the specific data you want to appear: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.
Let me know if you need further assistance. I'm here to help you some more.
Thank you for your help, but still no reports just a white screen.
If I go directly online and stay online to log into QuickBooks, I can get to the reports, but even though I'm still using the online version of QuickBooks, if I use the icon on my desktop, and use the downloaded version then I get the white screen for all reports.
HI Kimberlie1,
As your issue seems to be on the desktop app, please could you follow the instructions in this updating the desktop app article to see if there are any updates available that need to be manually updated?
Thank you,
Georgia
I am having the same issue from the desktop QB app. I go to reports and get a white screen for some (not all). My QB app and IOS are up to date.
When I login to QB on my browser the reports load just fine. I want to be able to use the app and not have to login from a browser each time I open QB.
Hi Sara.
I want to ensure you'll be able to run your reports smoothly in the QuickBooks Desktop app.
Since your application and ios are already up to date, I'll be sharing with you some additional troubleshooting steps to isolate the issue.

Please let me know if you encounter any other issues with QuickBooks or your reports. I'm always here to take care of your concerns. Keep safe!
I reset data for my QB Desktop app, logged into my account again and tried running reports. The result was the same. Some reports don't load, it's just a white screen.
Thanks for the clarification, Sara.
Allow me to add additional troubleshooting steps to help you get around this issue.
I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling your QuickBooks Online (QBO) Desktop App to isolate this issue. I’ll guide you how.

When I run a P & L and do a customized report to see the previous period on the reports it shows the first two weeks of the current month and the last two weeks of the previous month, how can I fix this to show the same time frame? I don't want the first two weeks of one month and the last two fo the previous one. Is there a glitch in the system?
Thanks for joining the thread, retchison.
I'm here to ensure that you can run the Profit & Loss report without any issue.
If you're using a browser, you may have experienced a bug that caused QuickBooks to malfunction. To rule this out, let's run some troubleshooting steps to fix it.
You can follow the steps provided by my peers katherinejoyceO above. If the issue persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our Support Team. They have the tools to do screen-sharing to check the root cause of this.
For future reference, check this resource if you want to use your report outside of QuickBooks: Export your reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

The reports are working the comparison reports are not putting in the right search dates. this is on Quickbooks Pro Plus 2021 Desktop. Can someone let me know how to fix this please email at [email address removed]
It's a pleasure to have you back, @retchison.
Let me share some info about generating Profit and Loss reports showing the previous period in QuickBooks.
When you customize the report and select Previous Period, it will normally show the first two weeks of the current month and the last two weeks of the previous month.
If you want the Profit and Loss report to show the same time frame, you can select Previous Year under Columns. Please screenshot below for your reference.
In case you need further help adding filters to your report in QuickBooks, feel free to review this article: Customize reports. After, you can memorize them if you want the same customized report settings available for future use.
Let me know in the comment section if you have other concerns with managing reports in QuickBooks. I will gladly lend a hand. Have a pleasant day.
Hi, and thank you for responding, I do not want the previous year, let's say I run a report for June 1 to June 14-21 and I want to see where I was May 1 to May 14-21 without running two separate reports and wanting to see them side by side, (let's say I feel I'm having a slow month and want to see where I was at the same time last month) it is doing exactly what you said it's pulling the first two weeks of the current month and the last two weeks of the previous month. Why isn't it pulling the same two weeks in a previous period? Last year doesn't help me. Now I can run two separate reports but that defeats the purpose of having them side by side on the same report? Is the screenshot you gave me going to show me the previous month or the previous year? If it's the year then that doesn't work, Why does it pull the last two weeks versus the same two weeks?
I recognize how important it is to you run both reports simultaneously, @retchison.
The filter to run the report for the first two weeks of the previous month is currently unavailable. It'll only show the first two weeks of the current month and the last two weeks of the previous month.
Also, the screenshot shared by my colleague above is for the previous year. Since it doesn't work, you'll want to export your first two weeks of the current month's report to MS Excel. Then, add an additional column for the first two weeks of the previous month. Filter the report to the later month for reference. I'd be glad to show you how.
You can utilize this link for the detailed steps: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.
You can also look for a third-party app that lets you run both reports simultaneously. Hover to the App Center in your QBDT or visit our Apps for QuickBooks Desktop page for reference.
I'm also attaching this resource that can help you in managing your reports flawlessly: Understand reports.
Keep me posted if you have other questions running your Profit & Loss reports. You're always welcome in the Community space whenever you need help. Stay safe!
The reports function is a joke. Too many bugs to describe. Does QB know reports dont work? Are they working on it. I had 5 sessions with support yesterday. No resolution. If not I am done with QBO.
We don't want to cause you any inconvenience. Please know that helping you is our top priority, @johanQ.
Please be advised that are some filters or report options are exclusive to certain reports. The option to set or apply it to all reports would be a great addition to the current features that we have, so I'll take note of it.
I also encourage you to leave the feedback from within the product. Here are the steps:
You can check out this article for more information about providing feedback to make the program better: How do I submit feedback?.
See this article for more information about running and customising your reports: Customise reports in QuickBooks Online.
Once done, you can save the report with the filters you set: Memorise reports in QuickBooks Online. It'll save your time when generating this report in the future.
Let me know if you need further help with your reports or anything else. I'm always here to help. Have a great rest of the day!
