Duplicate Invoice Numbers

We have a platform called OnBlick & we have integrated with QB in it. But these days our customers are complaining about duplicate invoice numbers. For last 10 days, they are facing this issue & system doesn't identify the same sequence & generates another invoice of same number. Can you please into it urgently?

Welcome to the Community forum, @Shifa. I'll be happy to assist you with the QuickBooks duplicate invoice number. In this manner, you may easily send your customer an invoice.

 

QuickBooks Online (QBO) can link with several third-party programs. You might need to contact the OnBlick Customer Support Team if this involves a third-party program. They may look over the integration procedure and assist you with the duplicate invoice number that QuickBooks displays. 

 

On the other hand, QuickBooks has the option to warn you when entering a duplicate bill number (it also applies to invoices). You'll want to make sure that the feature is turned on. Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then select Account and Settings.
  3. Select Advanced from the left menu.
  4. Go to the Other Preferences section.
  5. Then, turn on the Warn Me when I enter a bill number that’s already been used for that vendor option.
  6. Click Save, then Done.

 

After turning on the option, you'll now get a prompt that the bill number you're entering is a duplicate.

Hi,
Thanks for the information but the actual issue is:
When they try to generate invoices from Onblick, OnBlick sends the timesheet data to QB & the QB generates the invoices & returns them back to our platform..We have Quickbooks integrated in our platform & we use the APIs provided by QB to sync the data
so in those invoices, the numbers seem to be the same multiple times... then for the temp fix, the customer is editing the numbers manually to keep them different.
