Hi guys
we are just changing structure fr sole trader to company and need to migrate 4000+ products and services + clients and suppliers across from 1 QB online account to a new QB online account. you would think you might be able to clone an account - you would be wrong.
however, we used MMC the QB supported data migration team and it has been a dismal failure. we now have all the product lines in the new account but that is all we have. the small print says we migrate them all as 'non inventory' items and without quantities. what was the point? now we have to manually go into every product and change it to inventory and then manually link it to cost of sales and sales in their categories. this is many hours of work. does anyone know of an australian company onshore that does reliable data migration where they will check what they actually did and guarantee that it will be there .
we have reached out to both MMC and QB who both say they cant help aside from doing it all manually - what???
also noting that the migration team have managed to turn off over 50% the gst settings in the old sole trader account that we still have to use as we dont have a usable new account set up.
so need to find a good data migration team and see if balancing the cost of doing it again vs the cost and man hours right before xmas of adj all those 4000 accounts manually.
hoping someone has a good suggestion - otherwise we might just have to be migrating straight out to xero

For QuickBooks Online Australia, we have MMC Convert our data migration supplier who can assist you with the migration process. On the other hand, you may manually import your products and services list with the correct product type. You can download a sample Excel file to see what information you can import by going to Gear icon and select Import data and then Products and Services. You may want to check as well a third party app which you can integrate with QuickBooks Online to import your data: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home?categoryId=Sync-Data.
For more detailed information, you can check on this article: Import products and services into QuickBooks Online.

Did you pay any service to them?

Hi willea3015,
We value the security and safety of your data thus we can only recommend MMC Convert as they are our data migration supplier. On the other hand, you may consider checking for a third party app that you can integrate with QuickBooks Online that can help you with importing your data: apps.intuit.com.
