Preface: this was EXTREMELY easy in QBDT
Goal: I want to edit a recurring invoice, but it's not ready to send so I don't want the program to update the date.
Question: How do I update a recurring invoice without QBO updating the next date?
I'm not clicking Use, which should update the template to the next date, I'm simply using edit and saving, but for some reason this program seems to think I'm updating to send, which is not what I want. I've not got a recurring invoice set for June when May isn't finished yet.
Thanks for reaching out to us, N2MOffice. Let me provide some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue with editing your recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Beforehand, may I know what specific section you're trying to update from your recurring template?
Usually, the template will only update the next target date to generate transactions if you're modifying the Start date or the Interval of it.
If you're not editing any of it and the issue persists, I suggest logging into your account using a private browser/ incognito mode. Private browsing prevents cookies from being stored on your computer, making it a great place to identify browser issues. Use these keyboard shortcuts:
Once you're in incognito mode, go to the recurring transactions page and edit your template. If everything works fine using a private window, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.
