Hi,
I just switched from QB Self-Employed to Simple Start because I wanted more control over the chart of accounts.
In SE there was a report called 'Tax Summary' which showed each of the account totals against ATO question numbers. I've looked through all the reports in Simple Start and can't see anything similar to this. Is there a similar report in SS - or is it not possible because of the ability to customise the chart of accounts?
cheers
Helen

Thanks ReymondO, I thought that might be the case. I'll have a go at rebuilding it as a custom report myself.
Hey there, @helen-helenmckeo.
Thanks for sharing your concern in QuickBooks Community and adding a screenshot.
I'd be glad to share insights about the availability of the Tax summary report in QuickBooks.
Specifically, this report is only available in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). This shows your taxable business profit (income minus deductions) and totals for Schedule C and healthcare deductions.
Since you can't track Schedule C (for independent contractors) in QuickBooks Online (QBO), this report is unavailable on the said software.
However, you can organize your Chart of Accounts to match it with the Tax summary report. You can utilize the information from your Profit and Loss report to show the amounts that you need.
Here's how to view the P&L report in QBO:
On the other hand, you can customize reports in QuickBooks to easily draw the data you needed the most for your business.
Feel free to post again in the Community if you have more questions about QuickBooks Online.
