Supplier credit in simple start

I am currently using simple start. It does not allow me to use the bill and supplier credit feature. As a workaround solution,  I tried using Journal entry to create the credit and apply the credit note on the next bill. But, I have problem matching the new bill with the credit balance. it will show as overdue.

This is my entry:
1) To create the supplier credit:
Dr Trade Payable/ supplier name
    Cr Expense account
2) To apply the credit with the new bill
Dr Exp
Cr  Trade Payable/supplier name

Does anyone have a better way to do this? Thanks

Supplier credit in simple start

Hello there, lihong89tan.

I understand your frustration with the limitations of bill and supplier credit features.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) Simple Start doesn't include the bill feature, which may limit the ability to track and accurately record payables. Consider upgrading to a higher version of QBO for better payables management and accurate financial recording.

Additionally, the journal entry you created as a credit note will not apply as payment, so it will still show as overdue.

To understand more about Intuit pricing and plans, see the below articles:

Furthermore, I've added a link to help you work with QuickBooks: Expense and Suppliers.

If there's anything else you need help with entering credits, let me know by commenting below. I'll be more than happy to help.
