UPDATE: when QB recently updated it erased some of my access privileges. To fix, my boss updated my access.
Hope this helps others.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Leah.
Thank you for reporting about the missing Custom form styles menu under SETTINGS. I see how important this is for you, knowing you’re always editing your email template. I will help you out.
Know that there have been no changes to our system, and I’ve checked this on my test accounts, and the menu is there. Therefore, this behavior could be caused by random browser issues, which we will find that out as we go through the steps.
We can start by signing in to QuickBooks using a private window. This step prevents your browser from re-using the stored internet files in the cache, which includes data for Custom form styles or menus in general. Therefore, QuickBooks loads up fresh information from Intuit's server.
If you see the menu, you'll want to go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. However, if it's the same thing, you'll want to use a different browser to isolate the issue.
Let me know how the instructions above work for you, so we can assist you again if the issue persists. Take care!
I've gone through these steps and they didn't help. Still no 'Custom Form Styles' option. This problem is only happening when I'm logged into my client in Singapore. When I'm logged into my own US QUickbooks, or my other US clients, the option is there as usual.
I'll share some information that could help you.
You'll want to check your QuickBooks Online subscription. If you are on Simple Start or Essentials, the Customs Form Styles on the settings are unavailable. The feature is only available if you're on the Plus version.
You may want to consider upgrading your QBO version to utilize this feature. You can visit this page for more information and see the other feature available on different versions: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/sg/pricing/.

No. As I mentioned in my original question, I was able to see this on the menu until a few days ago. My client has a QBO Plus subscription, and that has not changed (I just confirmed).
I know that this hasn't been easy for you, Leah.
The Customer form styles option is still accessible under Your Company in the Gear icon. It can also be opened by navigating to All lists from the Lists section.
Since the problem persists after performing the troubleshooting steps above, I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team. They have the necessary tools that can pull up your account in a secure session.

An update to inform anyone who may also be in need of the Custom Form Styles functionality:
After an hour or so online with customer support where I shared my screen with the support person, I learned this is a known issue. The Custom Form Styles menu option is, in fact, gone from the settings menu for some users. Custom Form Styles can currently be found on the All Lists page, but when you click the link there, only the following error message is displayed:
Again, this is a known issue, and it affects some users but not all.
Hopefully this will get escalated and resolved quickly. I rely heavily on the ability to customize emails as I send out monthly invoices.
It's happening to me too. Gone. Vanished! Very disappointed this has not been fixed.
Hi, ECal ama! I hear your sentiments and understand how runtime issues can affect your business activities within your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. Please know that this isn't what we want for you, and efficiency and effectiveness are what we always prioritize.
You can see the Custom Form Style option after you click the Gear icon in your QBO. Using my test account, I was able to personalise and add specific info to my sales forms. There are instances when QuickBooks can act oddly and experience system performance issues due to browser issues. These can be solved by performing some basic troubleshooting procedures.
Let's start by logging into your account in a private window and checking if the Custom From Style option tab is there. The keyboard shortcuts are as follows:
If yes, return to your regular browser and clear your browser's history to start afresh. If not, we suggest using a different supported browser because the QuickBooks version you're using now may have a temporary problem.

Very disappointing indeed. All of the (repeated) canned answers are nonsense. I wish this would escalate to higher level engineers for a real solution, but here we are TWO MONTHS later without a fix!! This is definitely a QBO issue, not a browser issue. My only client affected by this issue is on the Singapore version of QBO. All of my US clients are unaffected.
One partial work around is accessing the email templates in company settings.
Gear icon > Your Company > Account and Settings > Sales
You probably still won't be able to access the full customization options (at the top), but scroll down to Messages, and you can edit the default email sent with invoices.
Below that in the Reminders section you can edit the email sent with the invoice reminders.
Hope this ACTUALLY helps a little!

Happening to me as well. Went through all the suggestions and still not able to access. This has got to be fixed asap for what we are paying!
I realized/learned that QB changed their functionality in a way that made my Accountant (QBOA) credentials incompatible. The account I've been using for years is a US-based QBOA account, and apparently accounts from other regions are no longer compatible with each other. I had to create Singapore-based Accountant credentials. Now logging in with that Spore account, I have all the functionality I'm used to. Very disappointing that the various QBO regions no longer work together, though. Hope this helps.
I have been struggling with this for over a week now. What kind of access does one need to be able to get to the Custom Form Style menu option?
Its April of 2024 and this has not been fixed. Where is a Custom Form Style menu that actually opens and works?
I understand how important it is to locate custom form styles seamlessly, debbie. I'm here to ensure you can access it.
The custom form styles feature is available to all QuickBooks Online versions. Since the option did not show on your end, we can open your account in a private window to rule out browser-related issues. Here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use:
Return to your regular browser and clear your cache if the custom form style option shows in the private window. Accumulated cache and cookies in the system can become outdated or corrupted, leading to unexpected behaviors. You can also switch to other installed supported browsers, which is a good alternative.
If the issue persists, even after following all the troubleshooting steps, I recommend contacting our technical support. Our expert team can arrange a screen-sharing session to check why the option did not show on your end.
In the meantime, you can use the search feature in QuickBooks Online and type in the Custom Form Styles or navigate to the All Lists. Please see the attached screenshots for visual reference.
I'll add some resources that can guide you in handling your sales forms and custom form styles.
You can revisit this thread whenever you require assistance accessing your custom form styles or with any QuickBooks-related concerns. I'm always here to help.
Apparently you have not read this string. The solutions you offer have been presented more than 6 months ago. And guess what …. They didn’t work then and don’t work now. I have tried all the things you mention. They still don’t work. We have text in our email notification that was once entered. We have no way of editing them because THE CUSTOM FORM LINK DOES NOT WORK. it would be awesome if QB would fix the link. Thank you very much.
