Matching Bulk Speedpoint Transactions

Hi,

We are switching to a different speedpoint that batch deposits credit card payments from customers the following day.
In other words customers would swipe their credit / debit cards through the speedpoint during the course of the day. That night the speedpoint would process all the swipes and then deposit the total amount of swipes into our banking account as one batch payment. This would be picked up by the above banking feed and we would then go find match and allocate the transaction manually from the day before to equal the batch payment that came through.

However the issue I foresee with the new speedpoint is that it deducts the commission and transaction fees per transaction then makes the batch deposit with its fees already deducted. So it’s going to be very tedious trying to match customer invoices while having to work out what the commission and transaction fees are that the speedpoint deducts per transaction.

There must be an easier way to receive and match payments from merchant SpeedPoint’s?

Thanks,

Matching Bulk Speedpoint Transactions

I can help you get around with your concern, Dane MTS.

You can receive the invoice payments normally, deposit it to Undeposited Funds, and deduct the fee from there. Then, you can match the deposit to the downloaded payment.

First, here's how you can receive the invoice payment:

  1. Click the Plus sign (+) icon, then choose Receive Payment.
  2. Choose the customer, then the invoice.
  3. Enter the amount received.
  4. Click the Deposit to drop-down arrow, then choose Undeposited Funds.
  5. Click Save and close.

Then, deposit the payment and add a line item for the fee. Here's how:

  1. Click the Plus sign (+) icon, then choose Bank Deposit.
  2. Select the payments.
  3. Under Add funds to this deposit, add the customer, then choose an expense account for the fee.
  4. Enter the fee as a negative amount.
  5. Click the Account drop-down arrow, then choose the bank account.
  6. Click Save and new

Lastly, match the deposit to the payment.
