Welcome aboard to the Online Community, graham-hogg.
To ensure that we're on the same page, can you share with us more details about the alternative dashboard (Standard Bank). Any additional information or screenshots you can give me will help to ensure a timely solution.
While waiting for your reply, let me provide some information about connecting an account. Standard Bank account can be linked to QBO as long as it shows as one of the supported financial institutions.
To check, go to the Banking page to connect the bank. Here’s how:
For additional resources, the following guide provides an overview of how to link a bank/credit card from the chart of accounts. It also contains a link on how to categorise transactions: Connect bank and credit card accounts
Stay in touch if you need some help while working in QBO. I’m more than happy to assist further. Have a great rest of the day.
Hi
The Standard Bank Online platform allows you to have multiple dashboards connected to one login profile.
When I connect to the bank, everything is good and it opens fine, however the accounts listed to select are only from my default dashboard which is my personal banking accounts. My business accounts are on a second dashboard and there is no option to select the dashboard. The result is that the business account that I need to access is not available on a list to select.
Can you make the dashboard selection available with the Standard Bank Connection?
Many thanks
Graham
Thank you for joining the thread, @graham-hogg.
If you're referring to the bank accounts that are showing up under the Banking page, you can simply click on the arrow drop-down arrow beside the account to see the lists of your accounts and be able to select them successfully.
Or, that on the drop-down arrow beside Add Account to display all of your bank accounts from there.
If you wish to reorder the accounts, tap on the Reorder accounts button, click on the pencil icon, then move the accounts under the Bank accounts window.
Let me know if you have any other banking questions and if you're referring to something else. I'm always happy to help. Wishing you a good one!
Hi
Unfortunately this is not the solution I am looking for.
There is a limitation with the interface to the Standard Bank banking platform in that you cannot select the dashboard where the account resides in order to select the account (U-Tile Dashboard). The interface works perfectly with the accounts that reside on the "Home" or default dashboard (In this case "My Personal SA Dashboard"
There is no option to select a dashboard on the Connect page and these accounts are all on my personal dashboard.
Hi there and thank you for providing screenshots., graham-hogg.
QuickBooks Online (QBO) and your financial institution (FI) have different levels of access.
QBO shows all your accounts tied to your FI, not the dashboard from Standard Bank. You can connect as many accounts as you need to. You'd want to refer to the Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online article for more details about syncing your bank.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you, and I'm glad to help you out.
Hi
Thanks for your reply, however as I stated previously the accounts that are listed in the screenshot do NOT contain the account that I need to connect to. Standard Bank is only showing the accounts that are linked to my personal credit card and not the accounts linked to my business debit card. (Hence they are on different Dashboards but accessed by same email address and login details).
I have contacted Standard Bank and requested that they remove my business account from my personal profile and create a new one with a unique login as it would seem that this would be the only secure way of accessing my business accounts. I will revert when I have this done and report back the success (hopefully :))
Kind regards
Graham
Hi Graham. Did you manage to find a solution to this issue? I'm having the same problem.
Regards
Andrew
Hi Wortha
Yes I did manage to sort it out.
I contacted Standard Bank Business Banking and created a second login profile for my business account.
If I log in via my old profile on Internet banking I still can access the dashboard from my personal dashboard so there is no problem now.
The second profile only has the business current account
Hope this helps
Kind regards
Graham
Hi Andrew
Sorry I didnt see your name at the bottom of the email....
Kind regards
Graham
Thanks Graham. That's great. I'll get hold of Standard Bank now.
Cheers
