couldnt find bank account

Hi @Craigsat,

This error usually happens when the account is closed. The error 106 means QuickBooks is unable to locate your account from your bank.

If you closed your bank account, you can choose the Need to disconnect? Here’s how option. On the Downloaded Transaction page, follow the steps to disconnect a bank or a credit card account.

If you didn’t close your bank account, reach our customer support team to check your account securely.

Here’s how to connect with our customer support team:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Account.
  2. Click the Help icon in the upper right of the screen.
  3. Select Contact Us on the pop-up.
  4. Enter your question in the How can we help you? field and choose Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us, Post a question, Start messaging or Get a callback.

You can also visit this article that may help you fix some of the banking errors for a reference: How to manually update an account to fix banking errors.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this by commenting below. Have a lovely day.

Let’s try some workarounds to verify if this is a browser-related issue, @Craigsat.

As of now, there is no similar reported issue. I recommend using a private browser to see if you can find your bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here's how:

• Press Ctrl + Shift + N keys on your keyboard (Google Chrome)
• Press Ctrl + Shift + P keys on your keyboard (Firefox or Internet Explorer)
• Press Control + Option + P keys on your keyboard (Safari)

If you can locate your bank account to QBO after doing the steps above, go back to your regular browser and clear your cache.

In case if you’re still not able to locate your bank account, try to edit your sign- in information. If still not able to do so, it's highly recommended to call your financial institution to verify and have documentation to be submitted to QBO through contacting support team.

Also, I provided articles for you regarding bank error 106.

For future reference, you can check this article on what to do if bank if there's a bank error.

Loop me in if you have other concerns regarding QBO. I'm always here to help. Take care.

Thank you for the below.

I tried as you suggested and got the same results unfortunately.

It appears QB is not contactable. I have tried with no response.

I think come the new year i will need to move over to another software.

I have another step that we can try in order to connect your bank account, Craigsat.

Let's make sure that you're able to log in to the bank's website. If it's successful, copy the bank URL and then go back to your QuickBooks account and try to connect the bank.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click Banking and choose the Banking tab.
  2. Select the Add account button and then log in to your bank website.
  3. Paste the copied URL to the Enter your bank name or URL search box.
  4. Enter your login credentials and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.

Here's a sample screenshot of what it looks like:

I've also got these articles for reference:

If you're still getting the same error after the steps above, please reach out to our Customer Care Team through email again. This will help us investigate more on what's happening why you can't find your bank in QuickBooks Online.

  1. Go to the Help menu located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your question and hit the Let's talk button.
  4. Select the Start an email button.
