If I select Bill A and Bill B and record a payment, it is recorded as two separate transactions in the Bank Register. I need it to be recorded as a single transaction.
Hello there, sandlandersandco. When you match a single bank download to Bill A and Bill B separately, QuickBooks will create two separate entries in the bank register.
Instead of matching the downloaded transactions directly to individual bills, you'll need to record the bill payment in QuickBooks as two separate entries first. Then, you can use the Match feature in the bank feed to link the single 250 EFT payment to the related bill payment record, so it appears as one transaction in QuickBooks Online.
Follow these steps:
Go to Bank transactions, find the 250 EFT, open it, and select Match. Then, select the existing payment that covers Bill A and Bill B, confirm the 250 EFT, and click Save. It will also directly link the downloaded transactions to existing bills, preventing the creation of duplicate or multiple entries in your bank register.
