HELP with Custom Form Styles - Dynamic Fields

Hello,

Where can I find a list of available/recognized dynamic field codes such as:

[Invoice No.]

[FullName]

etc.

I want to add to the invoice reminder email the ability to show open balance in the text along with the invoice number. [Balance] and [OpenBalance] dont do anything

Thanks,

HELP with Custom Form Styles - Dynamic Fields

Thanks for checking in with us. Let me provide some other options on how to customize your invoices, cactus.

The option to show the open balance in the text along with the invoice number is unavailable. However, you can customize the invoice to show the Account summary. This gives you the current total account balance and all payments or credits on the customer's last invoice.

For the steps and details, you can check out this article: Add an account summary to an invoice in QuickBooks Online.

You can also add custom fields to the template and manually enter the opening and closing balance when creating an invoice. Just refer to this article for more details:

How to add custom fields to invoices.

If you have an invoice template from your DOCX template, you can import the custom from styles into QuickBooks Online (QBO). This helps reflect your brand identity into your sales forms.

We have a link here that contains all the articles you need about managing customers' transactions and income: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/manage-customers-and-income/misc/02/manage-customers-and....

Keep me in the loop if you need a hand with managing your invoices or any QBO related. I'll be here to help.

HELP with Custom Form Styles - Dynamic Fields

I have a similar question regrading using dynamic fields in recurring invoices

I would like to add the following to the item description “Invoice for [invoice_month_name] [invoice_year]” so that the customer sees “Invoice for May 2020” except I cant find a list of the dynamic fields (if that's what they are called) that I can use.

HELP with Custom Form Styles - Dynamic Fields

Hello there, @mot-alak.

As mention by my colleague above, the option to display the open balance in the text along with the invoice number is unavailable in QuickBooks.

Please know that our developers are constantly working and considering new functions to be added to the system. This way, we will be able to coincide with our customers' needs and demands.

Also, you might want to check this article for reference in case you want to learn how to customize your invoice in QBO: Customise your invoices, quotes, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that I'm just a post away should you need anything else. Wishing you a wonderful day!

HELP with Custom Form Styles - Dynamic Fields

@GraceCeither my question has not been understood or deliberately not answered. My question is not to do with open balance or invoice number but rather what types of field variables can be used in an invoice other then [CustomerName] and the like see https://help.getharvest.com/harvest/invoices-and-estimates/get-started/recurring-invoices/ under the section Variables in Recurring Invoices and Messages for an example of what I am referring to. I would like to do something similar with my recurring invoices in QBO

Thank you for the clarification, mot-alak.

QuickBooks Online uses scalar Fields to fetch your company information. It's different from the one on the link you provioded. There are different variables you can use to customize your invoices. You'll want to download this document to see which ones are accepted: QuickBooks Online EZ Map Fields Catalogue. You can also use our samples.

Check out this article for more information: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.
