Hi there
I am curious to find out how other quickbooks clients migrated their data from desktop to online? Quickbooks is telling me it can take anything from 14 days and I can't stop using Desktop or start using online so I am stuck. I cant start fresh as I have over 10 years of data from the Desktop. Online entry of 2/3 weeks will not be possible. Any reccomendations?
Thanks
Hello, Shaun8500.
When you move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, you transmit much of the data from your company file without having to re-enter it manually. However, we need to ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop is updated. This is to avoid errors when transforming the files.
Please note that you can import a company file within 60 days after signing up to QuickBooks Online.
Once done, follow the STEP 2 details when importing your data to QBO: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
However, If you converting your company data from the QuickBooks Desktop US to QuickBooks Online global is not possible. It only available for UK, US, and Canada versions. You'll need to export/import data manually or utilize a 3rd party app as a workaround.
Please check out these guides for details:
I'll lend a helping hand if you need further assistance. Keep safe always.
You should consider purchasing a 3rd party conversion service and ask to split the process if needed to cut down on your downtime.
