How do you migrate to online when you cannot open desktop app at all because it needs IE?

Hello there, @emasiderius.

Let me discuss some details on how migrating your data works in QuickBooks. Then, ensure you're able to transfer your file by performing some alternative ways to achieve your goal.

Instead of using Internet Explorer (IE) during migration, we can use the built-in browser. It's a feature that works specifically with QuickBooks Desktop for Windows. All we need to do is to have the latest updates of QuickBooks Desktop to receive future security updates.

Alternatively, QuickBooks partnered with MMC Convert to help you move your data from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online using their accounting software conversion services. You’ll need to work with MMC Convert directly to convert and move your Desktop data Online. You may utilize this article for further information about the process: Moving from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online

Additionally, I encourage you to visit our Get Started with QuickBooks Online guide for reference. From there, you can read some of the additional resources we offer to help you going.

Reach out to me again if you have follow-up questions or concerns about the QuickBooks migration. I'll be around for you. Take care and have a great day ahead.
