Importing List with sub-categories to QBO. Error every time. I have tried with and without space after (:) as instructions are contradictory. Still no joy! Any Tips?

eg: Clothing Clothing:Fleece Clothing:Fleece:Top (6-7 yrs)

Thanks for reaching out to us. Allow me to assist you in importing your products and services into QuickBooks Online.

 

When importing items with sub-categories, there should be no space after the colon. Also, you'll want to review your file. Make sure that there are no special characters cause it can cause issues, too.

 

For example:

[Name of category]:[Name of sub-category]:[Name of product/service]

 

In addition, make sure not to use sub-accounts for the Income and Expense accounts and the date must be formatted as MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY.
