Hello there, magdilc.
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. I'm here to address your concern about printing invoices with VAT numbers.
Our product engineers have identified the error with the VAT number not showing when printing invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). They are currently investigating the root cause and implementing a fix.
For now, I suggest getting in touch with our QBO Support Team to receive updates on this investigation.

I cannot get my Irish VAT number to display on invoice or cash sale forms....I have the vat number set up in my company setup. Any fix for this yet please?
Hi there, @NGillis.
First, let's review the VAT Settings to ensure that you entered the VAT registration number. I'll guide you how:
Then, you can customize your invoice template to show the VAT Number using the Custom Form Style feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Here's how:
Once you create the invoice, use the template and click the Print or Preview button to see the VAT number.
For additional reference, you can read through this guide on how to customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.
If there's anything else I can do for you, don't hesitate to let me know. Take care.
If you select VAT Registration No from the Display settings, the Customer's VAT number is printed - not our own VAT number!
I'll help you add your VAT registration number to your invoices, JohnLeslie.

Once done, we can now edit the invoice form to add the number. Here's how:
Aside from customizing, you can also import custom form styles for invoices to add the important details you'd like to show in the form.
Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you learn more about the VAT feature. This is to ensure that you'll have a smooth tax year-end: VAT Feature Update FAQ.

Thank you. BUT why would you add vat no as footer? I followed the instructions but finally gave up and imported a word template as per second suggestion. Worked reasonably well but after 2 hours and many wasted prints I still have a dodgy invoice. It is way inferior and unprofessional compared to the layout templates in qb desktop pro! Now that I have a sort of acceptable invoice I then thought just edit that template for a sales receipt form. No way! No option to import sales receipt form!! So I have a different layout on my sr form to my inv! Also the sr form has a balance due as the main type.....there should be no balance due on a cs form! It is a receipt! And then we move to the statements.....no options to import..... Sorry qb if you want us to move from desktop to online give us professional layout editor like in desktop. Qb online's are unprofessional!!
