How do I add a field to an invoice. I need to put the customer order number on my invoice?

I know how you can add an order number to your invoice, Michael.

 

We can utilise the custom field functionality to include the order number on the invoice. However, this feature is only available for QBO Essentials and Plus subscriptions. Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom fields.
  2. Tap the Add field to create one.
  3. Enter the Order Number in the Name field.
  4. Select the All Sales forms.
  5. Click Save.

In case you have subscribed to the Simple Start version, you will need to upgrade your QuickBooks Online subscription to access the custom field functionality. Alternatively, you can include the desired information in the "Message on invoice" or "Description" section of the item.
