When will QBO bring the supplier GL function to QBO as they had in QB Desktop?
Currently, we have to export the supplier transactions and delete the expenses in Excel sheet. Add column balance and manually create a formula so the bills can be added and the payments can be deducted.

There must be an easier way???

When will QBO bring the supplier GL function to QBO as they had in QB Desktop?

I know how significant to bring the supplier General Ledger function to QuickBooks Online (QBO), romano. Let me provide some details about this matter.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) are accounting software on different platforms. Thus, you can perform some features in QBDT but not in QBO and vice versa. You can refer to our QuickBooks website to compare the two products.

Our Product Development team hears and values all your product suggestions and requests, and they're diligently working to improve your experience in QuickBooks. Thus, I recommend sending feedback to help emphasize its significance and to demonstrate the collective urgency of this matter.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. Go to the Gear menu and then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feature request in the description box.
  3. Once done, click on Next.

You can also track your request through our QuickBooks Online Feature Request page.

Moreover, we can't provide a specific time frame for when this feature will be available as our development team is still working on the program's updates.

Keep me posted if you have other questions besides managing supplier transactions in QBO. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!

When will QBO bring the supplier GL function to QBO as they had in QB Desktop?

Thank you for the feedback.

However, I have been using and advising clients on QB for more than 12 years and think QB is a great product.  I have raised my concern via feedback and the account manager from the beginning of QBO.  There is a workaround via export via Excel but if you have to do that for every supplier to recon the supplier that 5-minute workaround for 100 suppliers adds up.

Currently, I cannot advise clients when will the function be available nor if it will be available in the future because I haven't received feedback from QB Team.  Thus clients are looking for alternative products.

Don't get me wrong like I mentioned in the beginning I think QB are great product. Hopefully, more people commit on the post because I believe we are not the only customers that miss the old GL function from QBDT.
