We have used quickbooks online for years. 502 Bad Gateway Error -

People - I can not sign on after working online all morning. I'm getting a 502 Bade Gateway error

Does anyone know what this is and how to work around it

Hello, @Kristi Luke and @KBaker1 .


The ongoing issue about customers not being able to log in to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is already tag as resolved. Since you're still currently aren't able to log in to your account, you can try accessing it using a private browser since it doesn't store data in a cache. Sometimes, the stocked cache may cause issues while working with QBO.

 

To use a private window, you can use either of these shortcut keys:

 

  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)
  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox)
  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)

If you're able to log in successfully, clear your browser's cache to optimize its performance.

I'm able to log in from a browser but not from the downloaded app (for Mac). When I start the app I get the "do you want to restore..." prompt, but clicking either restore or not gives me a 502 error.

Currently, there's an investigation where some users are unable to log in to their QuickBooks Online (QBO) account via the desktop App. Rest assured, our engineering team will fix this as soon as possible.

 

For now, I recommend accessing your QBO account via a regular browser. I also suggest contacting our support team to add you to the list of affected users. That way, you'll be notified through email once this issue is fixed.

 

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief discussion of your concern and click Let's talk.
  4. Choose your preferred way to get in touch with them.
