I am making very little progress toward syncing QBO with Shopify properly. Can someone recommend an expert to walk me through the process.
Welcome back to the QuickBooks Community, MurphyBoot. I'll walk you through the step-by-step process to ensure you connect Shopify to QuickBooks Online smoothly.
When syncing the two software, you'll have to go to the Apps menu in QuickBooks. This will redirect you to the Connections tab in QuickBooks Connector (OneSaas) to finish integrating the app with QBO.

After that, your Shopify account is now connected and authorized with your QuickBooks Connector file.
If you run into an error or see any unusual behavior throughout the integration process, I recommend contacting the Shopify Support Team. They can provide you with more specific instructions on how to connect the two programs and how their procedures work. Also, please know that imported data in QuickBooks Online depends on what 3rd party app shares with us and how they're posted.
