This type of QuickBooks behavior occurs when large data in the cache is present. Thus, I recommended using a private browser and clearing the cache. This will verify if this is a browser-related issue.

Then go back to selecting the first of the financial year. If it works, return to your regular browsing and clear the cache. If this doesn't work, try using another supported browser to know the cause of this product behavior.
