Hi there, barry10.
Yes, you right that Price rules feature is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO) in International version. I can see how this feature would be helpful for you and your business.
Rest assured, I'll take note of the feedback and submit this along to our Product Development team to help improve your experience. They're constantly looking for great ideas from users, like yourself, when deciding how to enhance QuickBooks.
I suggest visiting our QuickBooks Online Blog.to know about the latest news and updates from QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm always here to help you.
Thank you for your response.
This Is most unfortunate as I have been with QB for the last few years on a premier desktop package. I unfortunately have no choice but to cancel my online Subscription and revert back to desktop version.
My business hinges on this price level option working.
Is there a workaround or an addon that can resolve this, before I do my cancellation?
Hi there, barry10.
We're always looking for ways we can make QBO better for all users, and thank you for sharing your idea in the Community. I can see how having a feature to automatically change an item's price under certain conditions in the program would be helpful. Rest assured that your feedback regarding price rules and level was shared with the appropriate department and team members.
As for a workaround, you can create and define each specific item prices you charge or sell to your customers. For more information, I recommend the following article on how to add products and services, track the items you sell, as well as how to edit them: Mange Products and Services List.
Thanks for dropping by. Wishing you and your business success.
Thank you Fiat Lux - ASIA for all your assistance.
I have migrated back to desktop version as I am in the manufacturing industry and all these solution are generally catered towards wholesalers, buy/sell enviroments.
Yes, those apps only support QB Online. We have to use other apps for QB Desktop. For example, should you need to manage multi-warehouse in Premier edition, you may consider using an inventry management app.
Hope it clarifies.
We are a water company having different prices for different customers. I did all the struggle to immigrate from QB Enterprise to QBO Plus, not knowing that this basic PRICE RULE option is not available in international version of QBO plus. Its a nightmare going back again to the DESKTOP.
Why is Intuit so much racist when it comes to giving products and features to global users (QBO Accountant ,QBO Advanced are some more examples of this racism).
Please tell your people, there is a bigger world looking for better features outside USA.
You may have 2 options:
1. Switching back to QB Desktop Premier edition with a one time license (or Enterprise, if you have to). For QB 2020 US version Premier 1 user, it costs $500 as regular price, or <$400 thru a partner/reseller.
2. Explore this 3rd party billing app with events based billing feature to integrate with your QBO.
Thx but honestly its just silly to have to add an app to perform a basic accounting feature that's been available for 3 years in the US. I have no problems adding an app if I was doing something that was not ordinary for many businesses. So my question is WHEN, not what are the clunky alternatives.
I can see how beneficial it is to add the price rules feature in the international version of QuickBooks Online (QBO) for you and your business, @Tristn. That's why I'm here to share further details about this.
Currently, there's no definite date and time for the price rules feature availability in the international version of QBO. However, you can define each specific item price you charge or sell to your customers or manually apply a discount to one or more items on your sales forms as a workaround.
After that, you can pull up a transaction report of your choice. This way, you'll be able to effectively monitor all your sales transactions and make sure they're updated. Just go to the Report menu's Standard tab.
I'm also adding this article to further guide you in managing your business income using QBO: Manage Customers and Income for QuickBooks Online. It contains topics about statements, invoice payments, and credit notes to name a few.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help. Take care always.
It's been another six months since this was asked and as this thread came up first in a search, is there any progress or roadmap for this to be rolled out yet?
Please don't propose any add-ons as I understand integration is a way around this as well as duping products etc.
@Fiat Lux - ASIA thanks for the insight, I'd been planning to build this function anyways so I can tailor it to our needs but it's a shame this has not progressed to International QBO in nearly 3 years. FWIW QBO appears to be one of the most functional of the main players right now. The X one is a train-wreck in comparison.
I was told progressive invoicing would be available once I migrated to QBO. VERY disappointed that I was misinformed by your sales team. Your work around is not realistic. Hoping someone is listening at QBO and will provide users the progressive invoice feature again. For many of us transitioning from QB Desktop Premiere to QBO, it is difficult not having this option. Also, QB Desktop Premiere I could forward ROE's online to the CRA and now I have learned I cannot do this in QBO. Now I have to manually enter all this information on the CRA website. This task is VERY time consuming. Again, VERY disappointing.
This very basic feature has been out for years now in the US and is still not available in Canada. How much longer do we need to wait???
@Fiat Lux - ASIA don't waste my time with self promoting reply for one of your add-ons
