Our Invoie Template shows the word "Tax" we need it to show the word "Vat" how do I change this?

I'm happy to help you today, klo1.

Are you referring to the form name when you open the invoice template? If so, you can change it by going to the Custom Form Style settings.

Here's how you do it:

  1. From the Gear icon and choose Custom form styles.
  2. Select the template you want to change to VAT and click Edit.
  3. Choose the Content tab.
  4. Click Pencil icon for the first section or Header.
  5. Under Form section, change the name. Example: "Tax Invoice" to "VAT Invoice".
  6. Click Done to save the changes.

Find out more about this process by visiting this article: Add, customise, or remove logos on sales forms.

Once you create the invoice, make sure to choose the template you've edited. To do that, click the Customise option under the transaction and choose the correct template.

Let me know if you're referring to something else. I'd appreciate any additional information to help me better understand the situation. I'm always here to assist. Have a good one.

Hi

Thanks for the reply, but the word Tax I need changed to Vat is in the footer, where it calculates the total.

Hi there, klo1.

Thank you for providing a screenshot about what part of the invoice template you want to change.

The descriptions on the invoice footer depend on which country you've signed up your QuickBooks account. That being said, for South Africa users, the system uses Tax word. Then, what you see is the default format and there isn't an option to change it.

Please check this article to see steps on how to edit or delete logos from your invoices, estimates, or sales receipts in QuickBooks Online: Add, customise, or remove logos on sales forms.

Is there a way for Quickbooks to update this as the common word used in South Africa is VAT and not TAX.

Hi there, lyonsfilm.

The Tax on the footer is a default setup in the program. The option to change it to VAT is currently unavailable. The information on the invoice footer depends on which country you've signed up your QuickBooks account.

For now, you can only change the Invoice header of your template to the VAT invoice from Tax invoice by going to the Custom Form Style page. You can follow the steps shared by my colleague Charies.

I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Blog. This way, you'll be guided with updates and newly released features in QuickBooks.

Keep me posted if you have any other questions or clarifications. I'm ready to help. Have a nice day!
