Bank Errors 150 & 102 not being fixed

I purchased QBO around 4.5 months ago. From day one, the bank connection did not work, I received error 102. At first, I assumed it was just a glitch and would be rectified within a few days. After about a week, I contacted QB support (via chat, since there is no support on the phone). I was told their back end team would fix the issue, assuming this would be done relatively promptly, within a couple of days.

 

It is now 4.5 months later and the bank connection still doesn't work. The error displayed has changed to error 150, but the end result is the same: I can't download the transactions automatically from my bank. This is one of the main features of QBO and it annoys me to no end that it doesn't work. Bookkeeping takes a lot more time without this feature.

 

I never receive any updates proactively from QB support. I have to contact them myself every time. I always get the same news - the back end team is working on it and they don't know anything else. After much complaining on my end, they reimbursed me the fees they charge for the first 3 months of my subscription, where I was taking advantage of their 70% off promotion. I am now paying full price for a product without being able to use the main feature, as QB refuses to reimburse me even partially.

 

Needless to say, I really regret going with QB. Initially I was between Xero (who also have the bank feature) and QB, and I went with QB because our accountant is familiar with it. I'm considering switching to Xero, but I hate doing so mid-year. We also prepare accounts for our clients and I feel stuck continuing with QBO for their accounts, too.

 

Before I take the leap and switch to Xero, I wanted to see if anyone has received the same errors and knows how to fix them, or has had a similar experience with QB and knows how to get them to fix their product.

Utilize the trial version of SlickConnect to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank. Otherwise, the problem on QuickBooks system.

Thank you for your reply! QB has confirmed this is an issue on their end, not the bank's. Would I need to use this program one time only, or consistently? I don't really want to purchase another subscription on top of QBO.

You may consider manually uploading your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. This way, you can get your work done, while or engineers are still working to identify the reason behind the error that you received.

 

To do that:

  1. Click Banking from the left navigation panel.
  2. Pick File Upload from the Update drop-down menu or Upload transactions manually if there isn’t any bank connected to QBO.
  3. Select Browse and choose the file you downloaded.
  4. Choose an account from the list, then Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to map the fields.
  6. Select the transactions to import.
  7. Click Yes.
  8. Hit Let’s go.

thanks, I'm aware I can manually import the transaction. I'm afraid this is not an acceptable solution, since I am looking to download the transactions from the bank as advertised. If you want to help, maybe you can tell your engineers to fix this small issue since I've been waiting 4+ months for a solution.

Rest assured our banking team are working nonstop to fix the issue as quickly as possible. While they're finding a fix, it is safe to upload your bank transactions temporarily.

 

Once everything is in place, the system will automatically download your latest bank transactions for you. All you need to do is to review the categorise the entries. I'm adding this link as your reference: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

 

You can also reconcile your account to keep your books and balance intact.

I want these banking errors to be taken care of. Let me help you get rid of these errors in QuickBooks Online (QBO).


May I know what's your bank provider? This way I can check about the update of this bank error. The error 102 and 105 you're encountering are usually caused by undergoing maintenance or server issues on your bank's end.


If you already followed the steps provided by my colleague, I recommend contacting our Support Team they can pull up and check your account in a secure environment. They'll also check further on what they can do.

 

Here's how to reach them:

 

  1. Click the Help menu in the upper-right-hand corner.
  2. Type in "Talk to a human", then press Enter.
  3. Look for I still need a human and choose on it.
  4. Tap Get help from a human or Contact Support Team.
  5. Select between Send a messageSchedule an appointment, or Get a callback.

 

In the meantime, you can manually download your bank transactions in QBO.
