In QuickBooks, you can only make the account inactive. If there are transactions or balances involved, QuickBooks will make a journal entry to zero them out. Therefore, the account's transactions will remain on your records and have an impact on your reports.
Since you haven’t done any activity with your bank account, here’s how you can disconnect it:

Help please ... I think i have deleted some banking transactions (i connect directly to the bank) now my bank balance and qb balance is not the same ... how can i get these transactions back again directly from the bank ?
I can help you with that, @Georgie2. Let's go through the process of getting your deleted transactions back to QuickBooks Online.
The QuickBooks balance is the total balance of all bank transactions that you’ve added or matched to QuickBooks. While the bank balance is your bank's actual balance from the last bank feed update. Since you’ve deleted transactions, that’s why your balances don’t match.
We’re unable to restore deleted transactions. Don’t worry, you have the option to recreate the transaction manually. We can use the Audit Log to see deleted transactions. Then, take note of the information so you can re-enter them in your QuickBooks account.
