Japan Banks

Hi there, petep71.

Welcome to QuickBooks Community. I'll provide information about connecting banks in QuickBooks Online.

Can you please provide me the specific name of the bank that you want to connect in QuickBooks? I'd appreciate any details so I can share accurate information.

There are lists of banks in Japan that's already supported and allows you to connect to QBO. However, if you can't find your bank when you search for it, you can try other listed versions of your bank's name. Sometimes a financial institution will have multiple bank names or they might have different types of accounts but select to only release one website for connection to QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu. Then, the Banking section.
  2. Choose Connect account or Link account.
  3. Enter the name of your financial institution. When it appears, select it from the list.
  4. Continue to add the account to QuickBooks Online.

If you tried all the options matching your bank's name and still can't connect, or if your bank doesn’t appear, I'd suggest requesting support for your bank. This way, our engineering team could send a notification to your bank for the integration. You can click this article to see the process: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

You also have the option to manually import your transactions from your bank or credit cards into QuickBooks Online. This way, your entries will add to the system. Please refer to this article for additional information: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

I'd also added an article on how you can reconcile your accounts so they match your bank and credit card statements to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Reach out to me in the comment section below if you have any other questions or concerns. I'll be here to help. Have a good one!

You may use QBO Global version for Japan

then explore to open a virtual multi currency bank account at TW ad run the bank feeds.

Is there a list of Japanese banks supported by QBO available outside of the application itself? We're starting a business in JP, and looking at both potential banks and accounting platforms.

@JakeinJP

They don't offer any listed bank in a certain country. You should open a trial account and type any bank name you want to find in Japan on QB Online.

As an additional option, open a virtual business account at Wise to deal with multi currency transactions. Utilize the bank feeds if required.

Thanks for that. Signed up for the trial and had a look, can't find any of the major or minor banks when searching. Disappointing!

Can't see any Japanese banks in the list, either. Maybe you guys could publish a list or something...? Seems like a not-too-crazy idea to me...

Hello there, mrollins.

Please allow me to join the thread and lend a helping hand so you'll be able to connect your account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Some of Japan's banks are already supported and allows you to connect to the QBO. But if you can't find your bank when you can search for it, you can follow the steps to try other listed versions of your bank's name.

Here's how:

Here's how to do that.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Add account.
  3. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks is unable to find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks," and you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  4. If you’re still unable to find your bank, select Request support for your bank.
  5. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided, then select Request.

In the meantime, you have the option to manually import your bank transactions. This way, your entries will add to the system. Please refer to this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

You can also check this article on how to reconcile your accounts so they match your bank and credit card statements to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

You can always add a post/comment below if you have any other banking concerns, I'm just a post away. Stay safe!
