Can i being a QBO global accountant service clients in USA?

Thanks for visiting the Community today, @SimX. I'm more than happy to provide you with some valuable insights regarding adding a client from the US region. Rest assured that I'll do my best to help you with your concerns.

You're right that QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounts vary with their regions. That said, you'll be unable to service a client that is using a QBO US version if you have the QBO Accountant for Global version.

To sort this out, I suggest signing up for a QBO Accountant firm in the US region so they can invite you as an accountant and you can handle their books properly. However, please note that you'll have to use a different login to your current QBOA global version sign-in details since QuickBooks will recognize that you already have a QuickBooks firm for that account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to our website.
  2. Select the Sign up for free link.
  3. Fill out the details, and ensure to use a different email.
  4. Complete the steps to create a new firm.

Can i being a QBO global accountant service clients in USA?

Thanks for the prompt reply, @SimX.

I understand how convenient it would be to have a single login account catering to clients from other countries. Let me add info about this.

As my colleague stated above, you can provide service to clients from QBO US by signing in to a QBOA US version, separate from the QBOA for Global.

Both versions vary because of their regions. Currently, it's not possible to handle the entire practice in one QBOA account.

For future reference, you might want to learn how to add and edit user info for your accounting firm, check out this article: Add and manage your accounting team in QuickBooks Online Accountant.

If you have more QBOA concerns, don't hesitate to ask back here. We'll be willing to lend a hand. Take care and thanks again.

Thankyou for your reply @Bryan_M

In this case, can i use only  my QBOA non-US account to invoice for my practice under both the accounts i.e. QBOA US and QBOA non-USA.

I want to have a single view of my earnings so that is why i would like to invoice all customers from one account.

It's great to see you in the Community, SimX.

I can see the importance of having a concise and thorough overview of your profits, as it plays a vital role in the growth and success of your business. Let me point you in the right direction on how to achieve your goal

As mentioned earlier by my colleagues, QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) varies from region to region, including taxes and agencies. However, you can utilize the multi-currency feature to invoice for both your QBOA US and international accounts. But before you proceed, it's always a good idea to seek guidance from a tax advisor or accountant who can provide expert advice on the most suitable approach to tackle this situation.

To start, turn on the option by going to the Multicurrency screen. I'm here to ensure the process is a breeze for you.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  2. Select Advanced.
  3. In the Currency section, select Edit ✎.
  4. From the Home Currency ▼ dropdown, select your currency.
  5. Turn on the Multicurrency switch and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  6. Select Save, then Done.

To add your US clients:

  1. In your company, head to the Sales menu on the left panel and choose Customers.
  2. Click the New customer menu and fill in the fields with your client's information.
  3. Once you’re done adding their info, choose a currency from the Currency ▼ dropdown.
  4. Add a currency to their display name and press the Save button.
  5. Perform the same steps for the remaining clients you wish to add in QBO.

For further information on how QuickBooks Online handles the Multicurrency feature, refer to this article: Set up and use Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

If you wish to assign a foreign currency to bank and credit card accounts, check out this article for detailed instructions: How to add a foreign currency account in QuickBooks Online.

We have compiled a range of topics that can provide answers to common queries regarding how QBO supports multiple currencies. These resources are designed to aid you in conducting business with foreign clients, suppliers, or employees:

Reach out to me again if you have any clarifications about using QBOA in other regions and invoicing your clients (US and non-US). I am always happy to assist you in any way that I can. Have a great rest of the day, SimX.
