I've tried creating a sales receipt then selecting an inventory item in my test file, and it automatically displays the rate and other details. Let me share a solution to help you out with this situation.
QuickBooks Online uses browser cache and cookies to run faster. But sometimes, these cached data becomes corrupted due to various reasons. If this happens, you'll get unusual behaviors like the one you are experiencing now.
To rule this out, let's open an incognito or private browser. This mode will not save your browsing history, search history, and cookies.
Here are the keyboard shortcut:
Then, sign in to your QuickBooks Online account and go to + New > Sales receipt. If the rate and other detail shows up after selecting the inventory item, then we need to go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Deleting the cache data helps to troubleshoot and remove outdated files that is causing the issue. After clearing cache, please make sure to restart your browser.
Alternatively, you can use a different supported browser.
