The Customer types option should also be available in your QuickBooks Online Plus trial versio.
To make this work, we can try a few troubleshooting steps. Let's log in to QBO using a private browser and clearing the cache resolved the issue. Unexpected issues in QuickBooks Online are sometimes affected by the large data in the cache. Browser troubleshooting often fixes it.
Below are some keyboard shortcuts for you reference:
- Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
- Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
- Safari: press Command + Shift + N
Then, creating a customer type in QBO by following the steps below:
- Go to Sales, then select Customers.
- From the Customers screen, select Customer types.
- Select New customer type.
- Enter a name for the customer type, then Save.

If it works, go back to regular browsing then clear the cache. You can also use other supported browsers to be thorough.
