Hi there, john139.

I suggest going to the Plus icon. From there, you can select a Credit note to start creating this transaction. This way, you can notify your customer that he or she has been credited due to an error invoice.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Plus icon at the left corner.
  2. Choose Credit note.
  3. Enter the customer’s name.
  4. fill out the required fields like Date, Products/service items, Quantity, and Amount.
  5. Hit Save and close or Save and send.

Once done, you can manually apply a credit note to a future invoice of the customer. Follow the steps below.

  1. Select the Plus icon.
  2. Choose Receive payment.
  3. Enter the customer’s name. Make sure you choose the same customer you selected in the invoice.
  4. From the Credits and Outstanding Transactions section, select the credit note and the invoice you want to apply by putting a checkmark in the box.
  5. In the Payments column, enter how much credit your customer wants to use.
  6. Fill in the other necessary fields.
  7. Click Save and close.
