Good to see you here in the Community, @ycching.

I'll ensure to provide information regarding your e-invoicing concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, the e-invoicing you've mentioned is unavailable in QBO. As a workaround, you may consider using third-party applications for all your functional needs. Visit the Intuit App Center and enter a keyword in the search bar to explore the options.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click Apps.
  2. Go to the Find Apps tab.
  3. Use the search bar to look for an app.

Otherwise, you can check your tax agency to their supported platforms for e-invoices.

I'm also adding these links for future reference in managing progress invoices and payments in QuickBooks:

Please tag my name in the comment section if you need further assistance. I'm always happy to help.

@ycching

You should wait until the end of December 2024 before considering your options (e.g use a 3rd party connector, switch to another accounting app).

We don't have any updates about the electronic invoicing in Malaysia, aseque. Allow me to provide a workaround to keep you compliant with mandatory e-invoice for sales and services taxes in your country.

Since e-invoicing is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online for Malaysia, I recommend utilizing a third-party application that meets your business needs and integrates it with the software. Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Online, click on Apps
  2. Choose Find apps, then enter a keyword in the Search field.
  3. Pick the most suitable application.
  4. Select Get app now.

On the other hand, I'm adding this material to guide you on personalizing sales forms for more effective business communication: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Let us know in the forum if you have questions or clarification regarding electronic invoicing or other related concerns in QuickBooks Online. We'll be around waiting to hear from you again.

I've read a few replies about 3rd party app support but have not found any for this specific purpose (LHDN e-invoicing support). Are there any and if so, could you suggest one or two I could look into? Tq

I appreciate all the efforts you've exhausted just to get this working, aseque.

To find an application that allows you to integrate with QuickBooks Online (QBO) for electronic invoicing, I recommend exploring our App Center.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Apps, then click Find Apps.
  2. Use the search bar to look for an app.
  3. You can consider entering words such as "E-invoicing."
  4. Choose an app that best fits your needs and click Get app now.

Hi, I have also tried searching through the Apps but don't seem to have any app that supports e-Invoicing to LHDN. Could you please suggest a specific App name that would support?

Or otherwise, could you share if there is any plan to have this feature enhanced to support e-invoicing to LHDN?

And if it does not, would potentially consider changing the accounting software as it's gonna be very tedious for stay compliant with the e-invoicing requirements.

Thanks,
Chals

Hello there, @Chals

I can see that your need for e-invoicing is an important feature as businesses strive to remain compliant with the latest regulatory requirements. I'm here to share an update.

We can't suggest specific recommendations for third-party apps that support e-invoicing to LHLN, as the choice depends on your individual business needs, workflow, and overall software ecosystem. What works well for one customer may not necessarily be the best fit for another.

Regarding the availability of an e-invoicing feature within QuickBooks Online, we're unable to provide the estimated date as to when a feature will be available in QBO. Once there are enough users interested, the option is we could consider adding it as a feature in the future.

We take customer suggestions as opportunities to improve the various features of our products. Therefore, I would encourage you to send suggestions or product recommendations.

To submit your feedback, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Feedback.
  3. Enter a sentence or two to describe your suggestion and click Next.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our Product Development team to help improve your QBO experience. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

I'm including this link for additional tips on sending invoices from QuickBooks: Create and send an invoice.

Additionally, here's how you can track payments once your clients pay their dues: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

Please notify me in the comment section below if you have  invoices concern. I'm just a few clicks away to help you again. Have a good one!

@Chals

I'm not sure if there are already non-local accounting apps in the same class as QBO that meet the requirements. Patience is the key until the end of the year.

it is a disappointed reply "Once there are enough users interested, the option is we could consider adding it as a feature in the future.".
Look like QBO took no serious on the implementation of e-Invoicing in Malaysia based on such reply. Technically we can say bye-bye to QBO already.
