Once the multi-currency is turned on, the option to turn it off is no longer available. and forbids you from changing your home currency. This is because currency conversion will have to be accounted for in the system moving forward.
However, if you haven't turned on the feature yet, I'd suggest using a private browser to isolate the issue. This will eliminate potential webpage issues and prevent discrepancies caused by a corrupted browser cache.

Once it works, proceed to your regular browser and clear its cache to refresh your website's preferences. You may also use other supported browsers as an alternative.
Also, please note that changes will be made to future transactions. For the invoices that are saved prior to the change, the currency symbol are changed but the amount stays as is. For more details, see this link: Set up and use Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.
