My subscription ran out because I was too busy to figure out how to update my credit card information. I couldn’t find a number to call and update either. So, eventually the payroll subscription ran out. I found where to update the credit card information. Updating the card information doesn’t work though. An error message comes back... “Unfortunately our system isn’t working right now and we can’t update your card information.

Hi there, Guttenbergdc.

I appreciate you for coming back to provide more details and for the specific error you've encountered. I'll share troubleshooting steps to ensure you're able to update credit card information for your subscription without any issue. There isn't currently phone support for the Internal version of QuickBooks. That's the reason you're unable to find a number to call since we have other ways for you to get in touch with our representatives to ensure you are routed to the right support team.

On the other hand, there are cases we can experience unexpected behavior and issues from time to time. Data problems might be the reason that you’re unable to update CC details and for getting an error. With this, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I suggest clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

For additional information about changing your billing info and payment method, you can refer to this article: Update billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online. This also provides details on how to view your payment history.

Thank you for allowing me to help. As always, add a comment below if you have any other questions. I'll get back to you as quickly as possible. Have a good day!
