Quickbooks using outdated currency from my country

Hello there.

I comprehend that matching currency transactions in QuickBooks Online is important for you, and I'm here to help with that.

The reason why the (Lt) Lithuanian Litas appears under QuickBooks balance is because it is the home currency set up in QuickBooks. However, if you would like to view the Euro currency, you can only view it in the currency tab.

See the sample below,

For more information, we have a guide article onhow to turn on Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online Essentials and QuickBooks Plus to do business in foreign currencies: Set up and use Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

Quickbooks using outdated currency from my country

I'm not understanding why quickbooks is using a defunct currency and assigning it to my country. I'm unable to to turn on multicurrency because
1. If I keep Litas, I can't change it and the currency doesn't exist anymore.
2. If I swap to Euros, then I get the error "  error Home currency data inconsistent. "

Also, the option of Litas doesn't even exist in the drop down. If I click the home currency drop down, it's not even an option.

I've got some troubleshooting steps to help you turn on your multicurrency in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @craftellacreations

Occasionally, too much cache buildup in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. This might be causing the error "Home currency data inconsistent". I recommend opening your QBO account in a private (incognito) window to clean this up. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to save time:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

Once signed in, turn on multicurrency again. If it works without error, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. Otherwise, you can try other supported browsers to help narrow down the cause of this behavior.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Phone Support team for further investigation. They have all the necessary tools to check your account and explain why QuickBooks is using a defunct currency assigned to your country. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Hover to the Search tab, then click Contact Us.
  3. Type in a short description of your issue and concern in the box provided.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Select the Chat or Callback option.

I've done all this, even created a new account. Incognito, new browsers, flush, etc. None of that worked.
I've contacted support and they told me to create a new account. Still does not work.
