You'll normally find the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen. If you're unable to see it, try to click the hamburger icon indicated with the three horizontal lines beside the company file name.

If it doesn't work, you can use another browser or a private window. Unexpected issues in QuickBooks are sometimes affected by the amount of data stored in the cache. This is because the regular browser will constantly overwrite itself and will remove history unless done manually.
The incognito mode will not save any history, so it's a great place to identify issues in the browser. Use these keyboard shortcuts to launch a new private window:
Clearing the cache can also help resolve browser issues in QuickBooks.

Thanks for your help. That is the navigation tool bar you are talking about ( I think). I am looking for the toolbar with tabs such as VIEW and EDIT and the like. I don't seem to be able to find/display it . Thanks again, Dermot

I'll share some insights about QBO's user interface.
The toolbar with View and Edit tabs is for QuickBooks Desktop. In QuickBooks Online, you'll have to go to the sidebar menu/side navigation bar to view and manage your transactions. The toolbar at the top is composed of My Experts. Help, Notification, Search, Gear/Settings, and Profile tabs. Take a look at my screenshot below.

I am also having a lot of issues. I have quickbooks online, and the entire left side menu/toolbar is gone... I can't get it back. I tried to open browsers in the incognito modes as described, still nothing.

QuickBooks Online gives you an option to view or hide the navigation bar by clicking the multiple bar icon located at the top left of the screen. This can free up some space if ever you'll want to see more data.
