When is QBO going to add the badly needed 3 Decimal Places instead of just 2?

There’s no specific time frame to when this feature can be added to QuickBooks Online, @Sahm11.

Being able to widen the customization option for decimals is a good idea. I’ll let our management team know your feedback. This way, they can submit a request to our Product Developers about this feature.

In the meantime, you can visit our blog site. This page will provide the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Team is working on.

Thanks for reaching out to Community. If you have other concerns with QuickBooks, I’ll be here to take care of them for you.

@Sahm11

Consider switching to QB Desktop instead. Deploy a private cloud if required.

This still hasn't been added. Not only that but the decimals on whole numbers are rounded off so $1.50 appears as 1.5 and $2.00 appears as 2. Hardly professional looking for customers or accounting personnel.

There are currently California sales tax rates that are using a 3 digit decimal and these NEED to be able to be added to the system.

I understand how frustrating it can be when things take longer than expected, Nahida. Your feedback is invaluable and we take your concerns seriously.

It's a good idea to widen the customization option for decimals. While the option to set it to three decimal points is still unavailable, I suggest sending feedback directly to our product developers. This way, they can further review which parts of the program need enhancements and consider adding them to future updates. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Profile, select Feedback.

  3. Enter your suggestion.
  4. Hit Next.

You can also utilize our Customer Feedback page. This also tracks your feature suggestions or requests.

Moreover, please keep in mind that we don't have a specific time frame for when this feature will be available. Before our developers release product updates, they receive a wide range of feedback. They try to navigate a path forward with accessibility in mind and wanted to be very thorough with the enhancements to make our program efficient to use.

When there are new updates for our QBO products, they will be communicated through in-product ads. You can also check out this link to be updated with the recent and upcoming changes for our QuickBooks products: QuickBooks New Features and Innovations.

Your patience and understanding are very much appreciated. Feel free to leave your comment below if you have other QuickBooks concerns. Take care.
